Supervise a staff of a full-time HR/Onboarding Coordinator, Senior and part-time Records Coordinator II.
Responsible for all human resources functions for faculty, staff, and PTI’s. Oversee and serve as backup for all Human Resources functions for student assistants, temps, graduate assistants, etc. Maintain faculty and staff position postings on the SPH website. Initiate and facilitate the faculty hire process and coordinate all faculty hires, including getting vacancies approved, approval of pools approved, organizing the faculty hire packet, requesting reference letters, completing appropriate documents, preparing Dean’s recommendation letter and submitting the packet for Provost approval. Send out faculty offers. Oversee faculty visits and job talks. Initiate, submit and review summer faculty payroll. Maintain faculty Promotion and Tenure, Pre/Post Tenure and 3/5 year faculty review deadlines and data. Coordinate and manage the PTI and GTAB hiring process. Enter PTI payment information in OneUSG.
Submit new, reclassified, in-range adjustments and updated staff positions for approval in the Classification and Compensation Portal. Post and manage the hire process for staff positions in Taleo. Create staff offers in Taleo. Serve as liaison with all other university administrative functions impacting human resource activities in the School. Assist in the coordination of and oversee the onboarding of all faculty and staff. Provide the Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, CAO and department chairs and department coordinators with guidance regarding compliance with federal and state laws, BOR and GSU policies, procedures and guidelines. Attend HRAC meetings, WebEx’s and trainings.
Responsible for any actions that occur for Public Health full time, part time, limited term and emeritus faculty during their employment via the BOR system and GSU central HR. Serve as backup for graduate assistant hire, payment and waiver process. Ensure faculty and staff files are created and maintained. Maintain School’s HR and personnel data. Draft and finalize all offer, appointment, extension, non-renewal letters for faculty and end of funding/position elimination letters for staff.
Responsible for matters related to personnel actions and ensure guidelines and appropriate approvals have been obtained prior to submission. Initiate any MSS transaction needed for the School’s departments or Dean’s Office and serve as final approver on transactions initiated in the Centers. Serve as backup for the Time & Labor approvals for the School. Serve as liaison for the School to resolve all HR or payroll issues for employees.
Facilitate and manage the annual faculty evaluation process, receive completed evaluations and file. Responsible for managing the staff evaluation process, reviewing, approving and submitting evaluations to central HR. Responsible for advising the Dean, CAO, department chairs, center directors, PI’s and business manager of new staff positions, reclassifications, position updates and market equity adjustments and implementing actions resulting from decisions on said matters. Ensure salary merit letters for staff and contracts for faculty are accurate. Ensure staff letters are delivered once reviewed. Ensure signed faculty contracts are placed in faculty physcial and efiles.
Assist CAO with any personnel data needed. Consult the Employee Relations Office and assist department chairs, center directors and managers with guidance on employee complaints, grievance, mediation and disciplinary actions. Initiate online clearance process for terminating faculty and staff.
Process all international paperwork for the School regarding J1 and H1B visas and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of related supevisory/management experience in Human Resources; or a combination of education and related experience. Experience in a university setting preferred.
