As a vital contributor to our mission, the Government Relations Coordinator plays a fundamental role in supporting the vision of our organization. By providing administrative assistance, logistical guidance, and fostering effective communication, this role significantly bolsters the International Fresh Produce Association’s mission, government relations team, and public policy agenda.
Position Responsibilities
General Administrative Duties (60%):
Drafting government relations correspondence, managing records, and ensuring efficient data management.
Maintenance of government relations files, databases, and records.
Organizing schedules for hill meetings, fly-ins, member DC visits, and the Washington Conference.
Coordinating schedules and aligning calendars for the government relations team.
Establishing and managing internal rosters and information lists.
Facilitating the smooth flow of government relations information across various divisions.
Assisting in the organization of government relations initiatives and action items.
Coordinating government relations documentation, communications, and information for internal and external stakeholders.
Support for Government Relations Team and the Organization (40%):
Supporting the implementation of the government relations policy agenda.
Conducting preliminary research for policy and government relations-related inquiries.
Assisting the government relations team with volunteer leader meetings, logistics, and communications.
Collaborating with the marketing division to maintain content on the government relations website.

Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, with the ability to quickly learn other computer applications and software.
Education equivalent to two years of college with at least three years’ experience in office management, preferably providing executive-level administrative support.
Basic knowledge of Capitol Hill and the federal government.

Demonstrating initiative in executing administrative duties.
Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of both internal and external work products and communications.
