Job Overview
As the Senior Vice President & Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing economic development projects related to the semiconductor industry, including supply chain companies. Your responsibilities will involve building and nurturing relationships with governmental entities, business groups, community organizations, and educational institutions across New York State. Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Manage a dedicated team overseeing economic development projects and supply chain collaborations in the semiconductor industry.
Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with governmental entities, business groups, community-based organizations, and educational institutions across the state.
Community Engagement: Plan and facilitate community and stakeholder engagement meetings and events to ensure a collaborative approach to project success.
Strategic Planning: Support existing semiconductor manufacturers and supply chain partners, contributing to the long-term success and benefits for New Yorkers.
Public Relations: Execute public discussions on critical topics such as workforce development, land-use planning, environmental impacts, and research and development.
Collaboration: Work with local and national leaders to design and launch programs that support the short- and long-term success of semiconductor manufacturing projects.
Coordination: Facilitate coordination between state agencies, local partners, and the Federal government on policies, projects, initiatives, and incentives to foster New York’s semiconductor ecosystem.
Innovation: Seek out and capitalize on opportunities to attract advanced technology, manufacturing, and innovation companies to New York State.
Special Projects: Oversee and undertake special projects or initiatives as needed to drive innovation and growth in the semiconductor industry.
Communication: Contribute to the development of internal and external communications, collateral, and events promoting the organization, its partnerships, and relevant programs.
Requirements
Education: Advanced Degree in relevant fields of study (e.g., Juris Doctor, MBA, or MPA).
Experience: 10+ years of relevant work experience with 3+ years in supervisory/management roles. Experience in government agencies and the semiconductor or related field is preferred.
Preferred Experience
Semiconductor Industry: Understanding of semiconductor technology, terminology, and manufacturing processes.
Government Policy: Experience in areas such as community development, housing, social equity, sustainability, and workforce development.
Leadership: Proven leadership experience, including strategy building, planning execution, and technology business development.
Communication: Strong public speaking and press inquiry response skills.
Collaboration: Experience in managing multidisciplinary or interagency teams, external community, and stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant state and local government policies and regulatory frameworks.
Innovation: Background in economic development, public-private partnerships, and/or job creation.
Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills fostering a collaborative work environment.
