Gilson Administrative Consulting Inc Hiring for Experienced Medical Biller – Remote Job at Remote Full Time

Gilson Administrative Consulting Inc. provides medical practices (primarily mental health practices) with comprehensive virtual practice support, including client intake management, virtual reception, and medical billing services. We are a team of highly trained, friendly, and compassionate professionals. Our clients are primarily in the eastern and central time zones and team members are required to be available in eastern and central time work hours.

We are looking for a well-rounded Remote Medical Billing Specialist to join our team as an independent contractor, providing 30+ hours per week of billing services for our clients. Experience working in private practice, especially mental health billing is preferred.

Billing Responsibilities

• Perform insurance verifications both online and via phone
• Prioritize daily work to ensure achievement of established productivity and A/R goals
• Daily processing of claims and patient copayment/coinsurance charges in relevant EMR systems
• Regularly update patient eligibility and benefits reviews, and monitor patient’s deductible status
• Regularly review and follow up on all outstanding patient and insurance AR
• Contact patients and company clients to obtain any missing information or documentation for payments

• ERA / EOB processing, updating relevant ledgers and performing write-offs according to client company guidelines
• Identify issues impacting A/R and proactively communicate those issues to management
• Always safeguard and maintain patient confidentiality by abiding by company policy and HIPAA regulations
• Other daily medical billing responsibilities as required

Requirements:

• Medical Billing or Coding Certification preferred
• 5+ years of relevant work experience working AR
• Dependable self-starter with the ability to work with a sense of urgency
• Organized, task-oriented pays attention to detail, and is able to multi-task
• Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
• Phone etiquette is a must
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Experience in all aspects of the revenue cycle
• Experience in commercial credentialing is preferred
• Dedicated home office with minimal background noise with their own personal computer with two monitors
