Job Summary

The Regional Procurement Operations Manager will have responsibility for the Procurement Operations function for all GN Dairy entities including wholly owned and joint venture businesses. The Manager will proactively work with business unit stakeholders to support efficient and effective operations and will manage a team of procurement professionals in a rapidly expanding, fast moving, and complex business. The manager will develop and drive the delivery of the Dairy Procurement Operations strategy, manage supply risk, support cost savings initiatives, establish and achieve KPI’s and ensure consistent delivery of products and services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and grow a high performance team of approximately six talented professionals, to order and deliver raw materials to facilities in order to meet on-time-in-full targets while demonstrating superior leadership in line with the Glanbia values.
• Manage orders for approximately $80 Million worth of direct spend across five+ manufacturing facilities

• Support the Procurement Strategy by leading and participating in projects and initiatives across the US divisions and globally as assigned.
• Establish development plans for direct reports to support succession management plans.
• Effectively manage the day to day procurement operations team through:
• Aligning team resources to effectively execute the Procurement Operations strategy.
• Acting as the primary link between Category Management and Production, managing suppliers as well as plant issues to ensure best in class assurance of supply and services.
• Acting as the primary link between Category Management and Product Supply (Supply Chain) by proactively contributing to the S&OP process, defining Procurement’s role in the process and ensuring the output of the process meets the needs of the Procurement team.
• Collaborating with relevant Cheese and Whey PSM team members as the primary relationship owner for PSM and Procurement, ensuring the support of PSM strategy by the Procurement team and feeding relevant information back to the PSM team as well as aligning on raw material inventory strategies with the PSM team.
• Collaborating with relevant Cheese and Whey Commercial team members as the primary relationship owner for Commercial and Procurement, ensuring the support of Commercial strategy by the Procurement team and feeding relevant information back to the Commercial team.
• Coordinating with the Category Managers to maintain effective supplier relationships to assure supply and drive operational efficiency
• Collaborating across cross functional teams to identify and mitigate risk in the supply chain and ensure continuity of supply.
• Identifying opportunities across all dairy operations within organization to optimize efficiencies and achieve lowest total costs.
• Coordinating with BU management to develop and drive organizational strategy. Coordinate with the Category Managers to meet those goals and optimize supply chain performance.
• Own processes around supplier non-conformances, near miss/stock out simple root causes, and documentation management for raw materials.
• Ensure timely resolution of LIV issues for component orders.

• Contractual agreement negotiations:
• Consult with the Category Management team on all key contract and stock agreement negotiations to ensure minimal risk in the supply chain.
• Work with the Category teams to ensure that service, quality, added value, minimal total cost, and security of supply are delivered.
• Ensure all contractual agreements are properly executed in conjunction with Category Managers.

• Demand Planning Management – The Regional Procurement Operations Manager shall ensure processes and policies are in place such that the Procurement Operations Team either owns or makes meaningful contribution to the following:

• Defining inventory guidelines based on demand plans, warehouse capacities and upstream supply conditions that will result in high forecast accuracy and effectively manage material availability
• Leads and owns cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement and Product Planning to generate input forecasts.

• Work closely with the P2P Support Group and the Center of Excellence to identify transactional efficiencies and implement improvements.
• Works with the Category Managers to implement local sourcing and local category management for items not covered in the total Procurement category strategies
• Establishes the proper and collaborative team environment to ensure there is a strong customer focus in all activities of the function at all times.
• Directly manage the planning and replenishment activities for the Idaho, wholly owned, operations (excluding Blackfoot) including directly managing a team of two in order to achieve the below.
• Develop and continuously improve systems and tools for manually creating a weekly materials requirements plan based off of demand patterns, inventory targets and inputs from the various production teams.
• Execute orders for component requirements.
• Manage open orders to ensure that changes to requirements are satisfied by open orders.
• Update purchase order data to accurately reflect order confirmations and changes as orders progress.
• Work with supply base to understand the urgency of orders and expedite as required.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to report and manage product shortages and material availability including qualifying alternate materials where supply risk exist.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education

• University degree in related field required (equivalent experience in lieu of education may be considered), with MBA preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of business or related experience
• Working knowledge of and experience with food or fortification manufacturing environment is preferred.

• Strong math skills, and knowledge of the metric system, are required
• Heavy Data analysis including MS Excel pivot tables and spreadsheets to do calculations on cost potency changes, percentages, etc
• Fluent in written and spoken English required

Travel Requirements

• Semi-Regular domestic and international travel to visit internal stakeholders in other regions, tradeshows, suppliers, and other events as required (20%).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $98,000.00 – $108,000.00 per year
