Job Description

Accounting Specialist – Accounts Receivable – Commercial

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to Clients.
• Maintains and updates Client files, including name, address, and email changes.
• Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment.
• Generates and emails Client statements monthly.
• Creates reports regarding the status of Client accounts as requested.
• Research billing discrepancies and past-due amounts and updates invoices accordingly.
• Maintains billing workbooks in Microsoft Excel.
• Reconciles revenue accounts each month.
• Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
• Relays changes of information to appropriate employees and managers.
• Performs other accounting related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software as well as other accounting software programs.
• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Experience with Net Suite a plus.
• Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, printers, and copiers.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with clients.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Teamwork mentality is a must.

Education and Experience:

• Accounting/business degree preferred but not required.
• At least two years of related experience required.
