Looking for a Construction Manager – Small Cell and Fiber Solutions – 6 month Contract to Hire!

Position Summary: Responsible for all aspects of construction on projects including on-site management, coordination of subcontractors, OEM installers and customer representatives. Represent company as the expert on construction issues relating to DAS and small cell projects, including public right-of-way oDAS and Small Cells, along with the associated outside plant construction methods. Oversight will include activities related to above- and below-ground fiber installation, hub construction, node construction and related utility make-ready. Ensure all assigned projects are completed according to mutually agreed upon timeline of customer and company. Ensure Project Managers and customers are aware of issues that will impact project completion or cost. Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures in support of objectives.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manage network projects related to new outdoor, (Distributed Antenna System {DAS}), (Small Cell Network {SCN}), construction projects and existing system upgrades
• Make regular trips to sites during construction including bid walk, precon walk, in-progress site visits, punch walks and construction closeout
• Assist in the ordering of equipment and requisite materials for new systems and modifications to existing systems.
• Plans, designs, coordinates, communicates, documents, and obtains approval of all Change Orders/Network redesigns with a focus on data accuracy

• Work closely with Real Estate and Municipal/Utility specialists, Equipment Engineers, RF Engineers, Project Management Organization (PMO), Operations personnel, and the various customer teams to ensure construction issues are pro-actively identified and resolved and carriers and industry requirements are met
• Work with outside vendors including General Contractors, Architectural & Engineering firms and Construction Management firms on project scope, design and plans to meet designated standards, local and national standard/code requirements, project schedules, and budgets
• Participate in weekly routine planning and working sessions with critical stakeholders and regional Implementation Directors and Program Management Organization (PMO) to review project scope, define issues, develop deliverables and associated timelines, assign primes and track action items
• Plans, coordinates, organizes, and reviews the Close Out Packages to ensure projects are completed according to project scope to obtain final payments and provide proper documentation for various Systems departments
• Ensure Site Tracker is Updated daily

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of telecommunications/wireless construction experience
• Knowledge of Outside Plant Construction techniques (aerial & underground)
• Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for performing RF Sweep test, OTDR, Power Meter and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing
• Travel will be expected in Market
• Knowledge of budget development, construction management process, site acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting process
• Able to read and understand blueprints
• Able to direct and diagnose work flow problems, critical paths and institute remedies
• Customer service orientation with a strong problem-solving approach – strong interpersonal skills
• Strong computer skills – MS office and project management software knowledge

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
