Responsibilities:
Specific duties will include, but will not be limited to:
Pursues continuing improvement of Human Resources policies and practices in alignment with and support of the organization’s Mission, Vision, Values, and business objectives.
Leads and provides guidance to Organizational Development and Mission Services divisional leaders to support the goals of the divisions and the company at large.
Sponsors, promotes and evaluates mission integration efforts including support and coaching of employees, integration of program participants into business segment employment, ongoing leadership development, and aligning activities to support a learning culture.
Develops strategies to address people needs for the long-term sustainability of the organization.
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources and Mission Services functions. Monitors and mitigates risk exposure of the company.
Acts as primary contact with labor counsel and outside government agencies.
Directs a process of organizational planning that evaluates structure, job design, and talent forecasting throughout the company. Coordinates activities across division lines.
Serves as a thought partner to C-Suite members in identifying long term strategies to include talent acquisition, development, and retention initiatives.
Imbeds diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in all strategies, activities and initiatives of Organizational Development and Mission Services.
Future supervisory duties include a Vice President of Educational Services overseeing The Excel Center in multiple locations.
Qualifications:
Experience, Competencies and Education:
Requires a BA/BS from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Services, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field. Master’s Degree in related field preferred. Extensive knowledge and at least five years of experience leading at the executive level required. Advanced financial acumen and leadership development skills required. Excellent interpersonal and community engagement skills necessary. A thorough knowledge of internal and external resources to serve employees preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to prepare reports, board correspondence requests for proposals and other executive level documents.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints while adhering to confidentiality issues.
Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations regarding Goodwill mission and employment value proposition.
Ability to communicate appropriately with board members, colleagues, staff, community partners, participants and all other interested parties.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply advanced financial management skills to budgetary analysis, revenue/expense calculations, and evaluation of vendor proposals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to innovate solutions and solve complex problems where only limited information is available.
