Duties & Responsibilities
This position description depicts generalized duties and responsibilities required of a position with the primary responsibility of providing program and administrative support for FSA. Performs special projects and prepares comprehensive reports on studies and other special assignments. They will be performing quantitative and qualitative studies for evaluating the performance of the branch, and prepares reports as necessary to ensure that the objectives of the branch are achieved. Develop and maintain a statistical database and/or tracking/management system to ensure the adequate filing of documents, easy retrieval of records, correspondence, required documentation and other essential program information.
The incumbent in this position will be responsible for evaluating procedures, improving operational efficiency, and make authoritative recommendations to improve program services. Assist the supervisor in improving effectiveness in meeting schedules, deadlines, priorities and production goals. Participates in the continuing review of procedures, and devises means of improving, consolidating and/or standardizing administrative forms and procedures. Assists the supervisor in planning and reviewing the day-to-day operations of the program, and informs the supervisor of the program’s workload, special activities, and any pending problems. They will need to handle complaints and problems that are referred by the program team staff, or as directed by the supervisor. As requested, obtains, coordinates, and prepares or edits responses for correspondence and communications.
Qualifications and Education
Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the CS-07 grade level, or its non-District equivalent experience gained in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: performing a variety of administrative and analytical duties in support of an office; creating and maintaining various reports for management.

Work is performed in an office setting. The work is sedentary in nature, however, some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light.

Residency Requirement: If the position you are applying for is in the Career, Management Supervisory, or Educational Service at an annual salary of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) or more, you must establish residency in the District of Columbia within one hundred eighty (180) days of the effective date of the appointment and continue to maintain residency within the District of Columbia throughout the duration of the appointment.
