Great American’s Strategic Comp division is currently seeking a Human Resources Administrative Assistant to support our growing Human Resources department. This is a work from home opportunity for candidates located in the Central Time Zone.

Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the operations of Great American Insurance Group are engaged primarily in property and casualty insurance, focusing on specialty commercial products for businesses and in the sale of annuities.

Responsibilities
Here’s what you would be doing if hired for the role:
Provide administrative and project support to the Human Resources Divisional Assistant Vice President and the Senior Human Resources Specialist
Support multiple human resource functions including recruitment and staffing, personnel records, employee relations, benefits, training, etc.
May help coordinate employee activities/programs.
Facilitate and/or process various applications, employment, enrollment, informational, and other confidential records and forms. May have responsibility for maintaining electronic files.
Respond to routine questions on human resources policies and procedures. Triage more complex questions/issues to the appropriate staff.
May participate in screening, checking references, and coordinating orientation for internal/external applicants and new employees in order to fill current or expected job vacancies.
Participate in ensuring compliance to company policies, practices, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
May administer and conduct company training and educational programs.
May perform duties involving employee communications.
Compile statistics for management’s use and/or participates in preparing reports for internal or external use.
Build working knowledge of employment law, various human resources functions, and current trends.
Perform other administrative duties and human resources support projects as assigned.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of related human resources support experience is required
Experience with Workday is preferred
Location within the Central Time Zone is required
Excellent communication skills required, in both written and verbal form
Must be self-motivated as this is a full time work from home position
