Organizational Overview
The Great Plains Tribal Leaders’ Health Board (GPTLHB), provides outreach, education and enrollment to the CMS Affordable Care Act, Health Insurance Marketplace. GPTLHB engages partners to meet applied public health research needs and serves as a liaison between the Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service and the Northern Plains tribes. The GPTLHB advocates nationally for improved Indian Health policies on behalf of the 17 Federally Recognized Tribes, which comprises the nearly 170,000 tribal members in the four-state region of SD, ND, NE and IA.

Job Summary:
Under the supervision from the Program Manager, the Health Insurance Exchange Navigator will complete the required HHS-developed training program and pass an exam to ensure understanding of the Health Insurance Exchange related information. The Navigator will obtain and maintain expertise in eligibility, enrollment and program specification: conducting public education activities to raise awareness of the Health Insurance Exchange (HIE) and Qualified Insurance Plans (QHP).
