GRIN is looking for an experienced, highly skilled, and professional Quality Assurance Engineer to work cross-functionally on verifying that our product is working as expected. Ideally, you’ll be able to implement test automation using your prior experience. You will be responsible for writing and executing test cases before deployments to ensure the software runs smoothly and meets our customers needs. You will monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards. QA Engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions, reviewing system requirements, and tracking quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.)
GRIN is headquartered in Sacramento, CA, yet has a “Remote First” work policy, meaning remote, or work from home, is the default. Therefore this position is open to anyone in the United States who can work Sacramento core business hours. We will give preference to candidates on Pacific Standard Time. When it is safe to do so, we will get together as a team on a quarterly basis, so in these situations you are required to come into the office.
Essential Functions:
Translating requirements and acceptance criteria into detailed test plans that are detailed, efficient, and impactful
Executing manual and automated test suites to ensure product is at or above quality threshold for release
Writing clear detailed defect reports including reproduction steps and expected behavior.
Partnering with Product and Customer success teams to ensure software implementations meet customer requirements
Designing, developing and executing automation scripts
Working with developers on your team to identify the root cause of failures.
Maintaining and improve regression suite to account for new functionality as it is created
Follow and improve the Grin QA process
Staying up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
Other responsibilites as needed
Experience:
3+ years of proven QA/Test Engineer experience
Solid work history
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and processes
Strong familiarity with Jira and Confluence or other software lifecycle tools
Experience with Zephyr, TestManager, HP ALM, or other test management tools
Exceptional written communication skills
Test automation experience strongly preferred
Technical documentation experience preferred
SaaS experience a plus
