Position Overview
The Logistics Operations Lead must have experience in overseeing daily operations within a 3PL Warehouse Operations, specifically managing day-to-day logistics of a CPG company. This individual must be a critical thinker, detail oriented and be highly organized with strong oral and written communication skills.
This role supports our DTC, Retail, Wholesale and Export partners as well as ensures service levels are met on a daily basis. This role requires an individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of delivering results.
Responsibilities
● Manage and oversee all logistics activities for the 3PL operation, including inbound/outbound transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
● Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency, organization, and space to help minimize warehouse and storage costs
● Implement best practices in logistics to improve processes and increase efficiency
● Optimize inventory levels through accurate supply and demand analyses in partner with Demand Planning to help minimize expired inventory and avoid cuts
● Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and FDA
● KPI Tracking – Analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
● P&L Management – Create and manage budgets for logistics activities
● Order Management – Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers in alignment with negotiated customer pricing
● Order Packaging and Shipment optimization – size of box, packaging material, process – to minimize our carbon footprint and maximize our cost saving.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for logistics activities
● Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of logistics activities
● Build strong relationships with 3PL partners and serve as the main point of contact for all logistics-related matters
● Ensure SOPs and SLAs, as agreed upon in the original contract and that are in line with our company’s Norms, are utilized daily.
● Presenting at weekly and monthly meetings KPIs results
● Set up and review KPIs monthly and recommend performance improvements in partnership with 3PL
Travel : 2x a year nationally/internationally. Depending on location, 1x monthly or 1x quarterly travel to 3PL
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree
● 5+ years US logistics experience, managing local operations for fulfillment, supply chain, or logistics
● Great understanding of countries’ logistics network and able to identify implications of business decisions on logistics costs
● Min of 2 years of experience managing/optimizing costs on an US based operations
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Must have fluent English, conversational Spanish language preferred but not required
● Accountability, accuracy, and attention to detail
● Strong organizational skills
● Excellent communication skills
● Ability to work independently to develop a method to achieving goals with little supervision
● Intermediate Excel knowledge and computer skills
● Independence and self-motivation skills: able to work as a team as well as handle projects on their own
