Tax Senior

Job Summary:

We currently have a fully remote opportunity for a Tax Senior at a rapidly growing accounting and tax firm. Over the course of the year, the Tx Senior will have the opportunity to review and file tax returns, as well as lead departmental success in developing processes, leading teams, etc. The ideal candidate will bring some structure to the tax department while aiding in the planning, coordination and execution of various tax projects and deadlines.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Prepare tax returns, ranging from Individuals, Partnerships, S-Corporations, and C-Corporations
• Provide payment instructions, gather necessary paperwork, and provide reports for clients
• Communicate with clients on internal and external deadlines, documentation needed, etc.
• Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions
• Manage and maintain the company’s tax database
• Determine tax planning opportunities for tax savings and strategies to implement
• Ensure you comply with regulations by forwarding required information to federal, state, and local authorities
• Offer support and guidance during audits
• Evaluate tax regulations and suggest policies that diminish tax burden
• Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes
• Prepare accurate quarterly and annual tax reports when applicable
• Able to step in with other tax projects

Skills/Experience:

• You have an intermediate level of understanding of Accounting and Tax operations, including financial reporting, tax deadlines, and specific forms to be filed
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in an accounting and/or tax firm, including tax preparation and planning in a tax department
• 3+ years of Workflow or Internal Process Management software
• 3+ years of Drake Tax Software Experience
• You have great in-depth knowledge of tax, accounting, and the bookkeeping processes
• You are an incredible communicator both verbally and in writing. You are comfortable interfacing with clients on all levels and across all departments within the organization as well as with demanding clients
• You have a proven track record and an interest in handling diverse clients in multiple different industries
• You have outstanding change management skills and the ability to lead teams through change and feel comfortable communicated with an Outsourced Team (when applicable)
• You are passionate about processes and continuously improving internal workflows
• You are detail-oriented, highly analytical, a skilled multi-tasker, and problem-solver
• You are self-motivated, attentive, and always follow through
• You have excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills.
• You are driven to add value and continuously seek opportunities for improvement both individually and as a team
• You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change
• You are OK with being thrown into the fire on a project and coming up with ways to make processes more efficient
• Proficiency in Workflow Software, Quickbooks, Google Suite, Slack, and Microsoft Office preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
