WE ARE SEEKING

Participants for our Fiber Splicer training program to learn to safely splice and test aerial and underground fibers.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

• Read aerial and underground fiber splicing prints.
• Complete jobs in a timely and cost- efficient manner according to customer specifications and industry standards.
• Complete job site documentation, such as safety checklists, time, and production sheets etc.
• Operate single and multi-mode fiber splicing machines
• Operate fiber splicing machines for single and ribbon splicing
• Test fiber using OTDR and hand held test equipment for unidirectional and bi directional testing applications
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber splices not within test reading requirements
• Work in and around ongoing construction areas to perform fiber splicing activities
• Utilize test equipment to trouble shoot and repair fiber not within acceptable tolerance readings

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Limited travel
• Experience in aerial and underground fiber splicing construction is desirable
• Ability to mount both aerial and underground closures using appropriate shoes etc. as applicable
• Class C license and excellent driving record required
• Excellent communication skills to communicate with staff, management team, client or outside officials or other representatives
• Bilingual Spanish a plus
• Must be able to pass a background, DMV, drug screen and color blind test.
