Medical Biller/Coder
Certified Medical Biller Coder/Full Time Position
Experienced, In-house, Cardiology (Interventional Cardiology) Billing Specialist needed in busy Cardiology practice located in Titusville, Florida.No remote employment.
Overview: The coder is responsible for reviewing and analyzing documentation present in the medical record for inpatient and outpatient and/or professional services to assign diagnoses/procedure codes as described by the physician(s) of record. This team consists of certified coders who are responsible for the Cardiovascular Service Line for the entire Heart Care Centers of Florida. This includes both OP and IP E/M services for General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology and Vascular Surgery.
Experience: Prior coding experience in ICD-10 CM diagnoses/procedure coding and HCPCS/CPT procedure coding in the acute care inpatient/outpatient hospital or professional services setting.
Certifications: (at least 1) Certified Coding Specialis (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiovascular Coder (CIRCC).
Other: Working knowledge of the AAPC Codify,Epic, eCW, Cerner.
You will be responsible for incoming payments, along with the issuing of necessary paperwork.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Insurance verification
Charge Entry/end of day closing
Issue and post bills, receipts and invoices
Work closely with peers regarding insurance education
Returned billing statements
Refunds (if appropriate)
Answer phone calls for billing department
Small billing/non billing projects
Requirements:
2 or more years of billing experience
Excellent knowledge of MS office (excel, word, etc)
Proficient in EMR
High degree of attention to detail
Adherence to local, state and federal laws and best practices in regards to dealing with patients and data.
- 40hrs per week.
