This role serves as a generalist, with emphasis and involvement in all aspects of the Human Resources function. This role will contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures in the area of general office operations, administration, compliance, recruiting/selection, onboarding and employee relations. Additional duties may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations as well as company policy as related to all aspects of Human Resources
• Assists with employee relations initiatives and programs, as guided by HR Manager and Director, to include employee coaching, performance improvement, discipline and terminations
• Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs by employees and leadership
• Assists with the administration of employee benefits
• Prepare and maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, promotions, using the human resources management software system
• Manage compliance training enrollments and reporting, i.e. InfoSec, PCI, Cash Handling, etc.
• Analyze employment related data and prepare required reports; generates and maintains reporting regarding staffing, recruiting and retention/turnover data
• Conduct reference or background checks on job applicants; generates Adverse Action Notices as directed by HR Manager; process employment verification requests
• Process hiring related paperwork
• Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
• Assists with the planning and executing of team member activities and events
• Maintains confidentiality at all times.
• Must be willing to work outside his or her zone of assignment to fulfill general park needs on occasion
• Ensure compliance with all Herschend Family Entertainment and Wild Adventures policies and procedures
• Represent the company to guests and other team members in a positive and friendly manner
• Satisfies Wild Adventure’s standards for performance and conduct. For example, reports to work regularly and on time
• Create “Memories Worth Repeating” for our guests
• Other duties/projects as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primary work space will an indoor, professional office setting; occasionally requires outdoor work in all weather conditions and in presence of dust and odors. May be susceptible to the exposure of various chemicals, bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens, prolonged exposure to sunlight or rainy conditions

Required Experience

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Field of Study: Human Resources, Hospitality, or related field

EXPERIENCE: 1-2 years related experience required

COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Office Suite experience required. HRIS or contact management systems. JD Edwards, SilkRoad – Open Hire or Red Carpet preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• This is not Monday-Friday and demands of the job exceed traditional 40-hour work week routinely.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed
• Must handle confidential information strictly and responsibly
• Must be proactive in continuously seeking and developing ways to be more effective
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and insurance
• Must have personal, reliable transportation
