POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position will be responsible for assisting the day-to day Human Resources functions for the business groups by providing leadership skills to guide team members and management to achieve business goals. This role serves as a champion for the company s mission, values, and a key advocate of HR Practices. Ensures all HR practices and processes are tailored to individual leader and location needs and add value to our business units. This position provides ongoing training to leaders and team members regarding legal and company policies and assists in analyzing reports and trends. Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:
Provide professional Human Resource advisory services to leaders and team members at multiple sites/divisions on talent management, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement, and employee rewards and recognition programs. Work closely with leaders and team members to proactively improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. In consultation with Director/Sr HR Manager, advise and coach leaders on Human Resources policies, processes, and issues that affect the team member experience, performance, work environment, and labor relations while managing regulatory or compliance requirements. Work directly with leaders to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on Human Resources matters.
Coach leaders on change management while addressing compliance or ethics investigations and de-escalate potentially challenging situations and provide mature, objective, and balanced approach to resolving sensitive issues and find solutions that benefit the team member and the company. Manage employee relations issues in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality with all personnel information and records. Conduct research, interviews, and analysis of data collected during the investigative phase, and consult with the Director, Sr HR Manager, and business leaders to resolve all issues. Ensure resolutions are fair and consistent enforcement of policies and practice. Ensure all HR decisions and practices are compliant with all government regulations (EEO, INS, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, OSHA, etc.) and all Federal and State employment laws. Manages involuntary terminations to ensure compliance and consistency with policies and procedures and partner with Director/Sr HR Manager for approval.
Lead HR initiatives and special projects. Assess and identify talent for succession planning and assist leaders with establishing individual action plans for future development. Partner with Training to develop and implement ongoing management and non-management training and development programs on topics such as acceptable employment practices, policies and procedures, harassment, progressive discipline, conflict resolution, affirmative action, and other topics. Provide leadership onboarding both internal and external hires, such that they are set up for success in their role and ingrained in the company culture. Provides tailored and on-going leadership training to as needed.
Develop positive and collaborative partnership with management of client group to provide them with customer driven Human Resources services, products, and management advice. Lead various projects as needed. Ensure consistency in the application and enforcement of policies and procedures and the compliance with all government regulations (EEO, INS, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, OSHA, etc.) and all Federal and State employment laws. Manage continuous improvement of Human Resources service delivery while serving as a liaison with the Corporate Human Resources Teams. Assist team members with general questions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five plus years of Human Resources experience.
Bachelor s Degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
MBA, SPHR or PHR preferred.
Minimum of three plus years of investigative experience, leave management and other related experience in Human Resources.
Timeshare industry experience preferred, not required.
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Well-developed presentation skills.
Must have knowledge and understanding of HR policies, procedures, as well as Federal & State regulations and background in staffing, employee relations, strategic planning, and training & development.
Willingness to travel based on business needs.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Consistent computer use
Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, and web-based applications
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to adapt in fast paced work environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
