What You’ll Be Doing…
The Resident Engineer is responsible for the efficient management, execution, and quality assurance of mid to large scope Transportation Construction projects. The Resident Engineer will also supervise 2-5 employees, possess the technical competence and ability to represent our client in the field, and determine contractor compliance with the requirements of the contract documents. In this role you will:
- Work with Project Manager in projecting personnel and equipment needed for each project
- Monitor the project schedule for compliance with the project milestones
- Present and recommend potential field changes and supplemental agreements.
- Develop and recommend solutions to challenges encountered on the project
- Generate and process pay estimates and change orders
- Maintain the project record as required by the client
- Monitor and inspect the construction activities for compliance with the contract documents
- Convey knowledge of Construction engineering policies and procedures, including applicable inspection and testing methods, procedures and techniques
- Communicate technical information effectively
- Provide leadership and management principles to employees.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or equivalent in Engineering is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- 10 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection, including 2 years supervisory experience is required.
- DOT, Tollway, County, and/or Local Road experience is required.
- Licensed Professional Engineering License in TX is required.
