Duties and responsibilities

Operations Manager supports the General Manager in the daily responsibilities required to keep a business running smoothly. Operations Managers often research and propose new opportunities for workplace improvement and revenue growth. Operations Managers are great leaders, problem solvers, and effective communicators.
Duties and responsibilities
- Partner with the Asset Manager to oversee the preventive maintenance for all equipment and vehicles and ensure that all certifications are current (DOT/CVIPS inspections)
- Primary contact for all Health, Safety, and Environmental matters within assigned base
- Conduct and lead regularly scheduled safety meetings
- Responsible for investigations of reportable incidents and near misses and provide prevention procedures
- Conduct and lead regularly scheduled shop and field audits
- Liaise with HSE Manager as needed
- Ensure employees receive and document all required training relating to:
- Competency assessments
- Ensure regular competency assessments conducted for each field employee a minimum of one time per year
- Responsible for scheduling equipment, manpower, and other resources as required
- Manage and monitor fleet resources and ensure they meet the required standard certifications
- Ensure base meets all requirements for successful DOT/transportation audits
- Assist with putting together payroll data for final approval
- Regularly visits job sites to ensure proper staffing
- Assist with interviews to fill open positions
- Assist in ensuring a proper balance of experienced and inexperienced hands
- Assist the General Manager as needed with daily duties
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exhibit ability to be a strong team player
- Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- In-depth knowledge on best oil and gas field procedures and practices
Education & Experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Relevant experience with some experience in a supervisory position
