The Department of Medicine within the IU School of Medicine is seeking a HR Business Partner for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. The division focuses on various aspects of cardiovascular diseases through teaching, research and clinical efforts.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HR Professional to join our team. Department-Specific Responsibilities
Manages the full cycle of Human Resources services for faculty and staff in the assigned division for the Department of Medicine. This includes talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, corrective action and leadership development.
Serves as the focal point for HR services for assigned division and as the primary HR partner for division administrator and chief.
Develops and executes innovative and proactive talent strategies aimed at developing and retaining quality candidates to meet the overall talent goals of the division.
Partners with Department HR Director to drive talent management processes including performance management, corrective action and professional development.
Partners with department, school and hospital-level partners in the coordination of faculty recruiting, compensation as well as the annual review process.
Takes responsibility for solving problems, making improvements, and delivering quality services with a customer-focused mindset in an environment that fosters understanding, collaborative teamwork and knowledge sharing.
Maintains compliance with policies and procedures.
Acts as HRMS processor for maintaining and updating data for various reports, creating and processing e-docs.
Disseminates information regarding new and updated procedures; including, but not limited to: compliance, benefits, employment policies, faculty policies, etc.
General Responsibilities:
Utilizes and applies in-depth HR body of knowledge and skills to provide tactical guidance for HR related matters like salary administration, hiring, training, and policy interpretation.
Resolves and provides solutions for more complex employee relations issues with continued partnership, counsel, and support from COEs.
Collaborates and develops recruiting strategies to meet current and/or anticipated staffing needs; ensures recruiting and staffing needs are met in a timely manner.
Collaborates with other business partners and managers to improve and build effective relationships to improve employee engagement and identify “”high priority”” retention needs.
Coaches leaders to help determine best solutions regarding policy interpretation, performance issues, workforce planning, change management, conflict resolution to ensure alignment and consistency across the university.
Provides HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on issues to leaders and managers
Collaborate with HR COEs to roll out and support university-wide initiatives, ensure client’s needs are understood and met, and deliver change management interventions.
Provides support for ensuring an environment of diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor’s degree (degree in Human Resources preferred)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
3 years Human Resources or related progressively responsible experience
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
