The Human Resources Business Partner role is to focus on providing high quality and responsive HR services, partnering with ITW and Instron’s leadership and employees that support the accomplishment of business goals.

This is a highly visible role that incorporates many traditional HR functional responsibilities such as talent acquisition and employee relations, as well as more proactive activities that involve partnering with different areas of the business to address organizational development challenges, managing change and policy development and implementation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Drives the recruitment and onboarding processes for regular and temporary employees.
• In collaboration with hiring managers, develops recruitment strategies for open positions.
• Manages internal and external postings via an ATS (SmartRecruiters).
• Interviews and recommends candidates for hire.
• Coordinates the job offer and pre-employment processes.
• Coaches and counsels managers and employees on a wide variety of work related activities, policies and procedures such as employee relations, talent management and career development, process improvement, succession planning, performance management, compensation and benefits, diversity, and recruiting.
• Partners with managers to proactively identify people issues and provide tailored solutions to meet business goals.
• Works with business leaders to define, develop and maintain a culture that inspires and fosters high employee performance and engagement.
• Assists with the administration, communication and continued development of ITW and Instron’s annual performance appraisal process and reward programs.
• Coordinates compensation and pay related activities such as survey participation, job evaluation, market pricing, and variable pay plans.
• Works closely with the HR team to ensure consistency in the interpretation, communication, application and administration of HR policies and procedures.
• Assists in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that comply with federal and state laws and are consistent with Instron’s values and business goals.
• Utilizes computer technology to streamline process improvements and delivery of HR services.
• Functions as project manager coordinating special Human Resource initiatives as needed.

Education, Knowledge & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years’ experience in an HR Coordination or Generalist role. PHR certification desired.
• A significant depth of knowledge and experience in the following HR functional areas: recruiting, performance management, interpreting and applying employment laws, employee and leadership development, process improvement, and compensation and benefits.
• Strong computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office desktop tools and social media. Workday experience desired.
