Position Purpose: Leads the Human Resources initiatives and labor relations at Marysville, MI plant. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and skilled HR business partner who is both strategic and hands-on. The ideal candidate will have HR leadership experience in an industrial environment and have solid coaching skills.
Principle Accountabilities
· Directs and coordinates human resources activities in compliance with company philosophy, objectives, and legal requirements.
· Meet with local management team and Director of Labor Relations to review and draft responses to grievances, information requests; participate in grievance meetings and negotiations.
· Facilitate a cooperative relationship with the Union Committee.
· Recommends and directs the installation of programs and policies that create or reinforce a positive employee relations atmosphere.
· Participates in the overall management of the plant as a member of the site staff.
· Participates in corporate human resources activities and teams.
· Promotes a positive work environment and people-focused programs and processes that foster continuous development and support of the facility.
· Leads all HR activities for the Marysville site including but not limited to recruitment, engagement, compensation administration, organizational development, and labor and employee relations.
· Participates in the continuous improvement process at the plant and driving process improvement at the local HR level.

Essential Skills and Experience
· Master’s degree preferred / undergraduate degree required in related field and/or minimum of five years’ progressive. experience in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience in a union environment, preferred
· Strong interpersonal skills, tact, maturity and flexibility.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to gain trust and work through others to achieve goals.
· Strong problem-solving capability and continuous improvement mindset.
· Excellence in labor and employee relations.
· Collaborative and energetic with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
· Ability to work independently and in a high-paced team environment with changing priorities.
