JBJ Management Hiring for Government Relations Specialist at Dallas, TX Full Time

We are searching for a Government Relations Specialist who is outgoing with the ability to work well independently and on a team. In this position, you will be a member of the government relations team, whose responsibilities will include relationship building, event attendance, and public engagement. This role will require a thorough knowledge of the Dallas County government structure, as well as the capabilities of JBJ Management for business development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with elected and appointed officials and their staff. Represents JBJ Management during city council meetings and commissioner’s court and facilitates all engagement with members of the council, commissioners, and their staff during this time.
• Organizes all JBJ Management’s client scheduling of meetings with executives and legislative offices. Writes all thank you notes and follows up on any legislative requests.
• Participates as a member of various client project teams and delivers exemplary customer service. Provides daily status reports on client services rendered and efforts made on behalf of JBJ Management.
• Attends assigned meetings related to government relations and has responsibility for building new relationships in the Dallas County area. This includes various chamber activities, regional meetings related to client projects, and county-wide community events.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide exemplary client services and build relationships
• Interest in community outreach, public relations, and public-private partnerships
• Ability to think critically, problem solve, and effectively communicate to a variety of audiences
• Proficient in computer skills and data analysis
• Demonstrates efficient time management
• Demonstrates strong research skills and report writing
• Project management experience preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of Dallas government structure. Relationships in the Dallas area are preferred.
• Two years experience in government, community organizing, public engagement, and equivalent experience/education.
