Responsibilities
As a Systems Engineer for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) located in Waterloo, IA, you will….
Work with software development teams to create technology roadmaps and delivery timelines for all supplier developed software solutions as a part of the operator station software group
Define functional requirements for supplier software including any communication interfaces so they seamlessly integrate into our vehicle systems
Lead and manage relations with supplier through communicating requirements and delivery timelines
Deliver and release supplier software that requires uploading to John Deere tools and systems for deployment to multiple platforms
Support and lead investigations on any supplier software issues that arise during development or production cycles to drive to root cause and provide sustainable solutions

What Skills You Need
Familiarity with the software development process (through practical work experience or educational coursework/projects)
Experience with creating detailed engineering requirements (specifically software system requirements)
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues
Excellent collaboration, organization, and communication skills
Experience effectively managing projects with multiple stakeholders
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with CAN communication protocols
Ability to work with cross functional stakeholders (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, product design, marketing, etc) to understand customer requirements and how those can be translated into software requirements and implementations
Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and willingness to keep growing skills to contribute to an evolving technology stack
Proven skills to troubleshoot software system issues
Focus and passion for developing innovative technical solutions to solve customer problems
Background with John Deere products, farming practices and/or farm equipment operation
Experience with infotainment systems and components
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering related field
