Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. Job Description:
As a member of the inter-Regional Transport Excellence leadership team, this role will be accountable for designing, implementing and managing inter-regional freight processes to improve overall transport reliability and transparency globally
Responsibilities:
The scope of Director, Segment Inter-Regional Transport Operations role involves leading primary workstreams including, but not limited to:
Establish effective cross-regional transport processes, assess inter-regional transport operational capabilities and develop and implement cross-regional transportation continuous improvement program for quality and cost
Leader for operational management for inter-region transport lanes, ensuring consistent product availability and highest levels of customer experience.
Responsible for the management, driving improvements and reporting of reliability for inter-region transportation lanes.
Lead the definition and adoption of business process standards for transportation
As the operational product owner for the Global Transportation Control Tower, lead all project related operational activities and participate in the design of the control tower operations.
Drive and execute End to End cross regions processes, starting out of the dock of the shipping Manufacturing/Distribution Centers to the dock of the receiving Distribution Centers
For strategic transportation lanes, partner with Distribution and Planning to drive end to end process optimization to improve lead-times.
Supports critical Segment and Deliver initiatives, including projects, new launches, network changes and day to day operational priorities.
Partners with Global Logistics Procurement to execute Supplier Relationship Management.
Operational Process Owner for Global Transportation Sourcing Events, driving requirements, vendor selection and implementation of changes across the J&J network.
Drive transportation strategy and ensure quality, compliance, customer service, financials are aligned with segment partners
Business sector Transport SME in Lighthouse Project: responsible and accountable for Business as Usual (BAU) execution
Drive Control tower compliance, development and continuous improvement in partnership with the nominated 4PL
4PL Control Tower Budget compliance
Ensure that BAU is executed flawlessly and reliability at target
Qualifications
Position Requirements
A minimum of 10 years overall business experience with a focus in Deliver Operations, Strategy and management of large programs.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
Experience working in a highly matrixed, global organization is required Managerial Skills and Experiences:
Track record of developing and building diverse, high performance teams with a strong sense of mission
Collaboration – able to build strong partnerships internally and externally
Leadership Imperatives: Connect, Shape, Lead, Deliver
This position requires up to 15% domestic and international travel.
Preferred Requirements/Competencies:
A MBA or Master’s Degree is preferred
Freight carrier operations, including billing, claims, audits, digital booking, export coordination, freight plan coordination
Event management and issue resolution
Reliability analytics through control tower
Proactive relationship management with segment focus
Track record of end to end import / export execution
Multi-sector experience is preferred
