The role which is in the Medical Devices Design and Human Factors organization (IDHF). We are seeking a multi-faceted, exceptionally talented, user-centered Design to Business Strategist who is passionate about changing the trajectory of healthcare through transformational user experiences.
Our IDHF team has been an embedded partner of J&J Medical Devices since 1988 and we have been honored to have garnered numerous prestigious industry awards for our commitment to human centered design and improving the quality of healthcare experiences for HCP’s and patients.
Our global design team leverages Human Centered Design (HCD) philosophies to advance the needs of the MedTech Industry by placing our users at the center of our design process. We design solutions that span the full episode of care and balance the needs of various users; surgeons, hospital staff, patients, and caregivers along the journey through cohesive designs (physical and digital) across our portfolio.
Our organization is a multinational team comprised of Industrial Designers, Human Factors Engineers, UX/Interaction Designers, Information Designers and Design Strategists in more than nine locations around the world, all operating under the same mission to improve the quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Create compelling new value propositions to enhance the holistic user experience based on user research, Novel IP, and market insights.
Translate market and/or research insights into potential business opportunities that create new products and / or service offerings that deliver value for our users.
Integrate Physical, Digital, and Service design into a holistic user experience.
Partner with design colleagues and cross-functional partners to shape the development of products and businesses that lead to disruptive growth.
Define appropriate UX metrics related to business KPI’s that translate to and inform UX learning plans.
Partner to design research plans that uncover user needs, motivations, and attitudinal beliefs for product adoption and compliance across the full care continuum between our various user groups.
Support competitive portfolio analyses to define unique UX differentiators.
Conduct trend analysis (e.g., experiences, demographic, consumer, technology, healthcare, economics, etc.) to shape internal strategies.
Evangelize HCD and UX by creating engaging narratives that bring to life these opportunities through compelling storytelling and data visualization techniques.
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Service Design, Innovation, Psychology, Industrial Design, or Business Strategy is required. An MBA or Advanced degree is preferred.
Required Skills:
6 years or more of relevant work experience within human centered design, user experience and research, product market research and/or development.
Experience in developing and evangelizing design to business strategies with solid business acumen and rationalizations.
Experience synthesizing market insights and user feedback into concise, meaningful proposals and action plans.
Excellent verbal and written communicator with data / information visualization skills to create visually appealing proposals and analyses.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with systems thinking.
Experience with identifying, defining, and using methodologies to measure user experience metrics.
Medical Device industry experience.
Other:
This role is based in Raynham, MA and required the ability to travel up to 20%, domestic and international is required.
