We are looking for an accountant to join our team as a staff accountant with 0-3 years of recent public accounting experience. For this position, the pursuit of the CPA certification, if not already obtained, is strongly encouraged, and expected. These individuals will work directly with the manager and partners on tax, accounting, and attestation engagements. This opportunity is for someone with strong leadership skills; organized with the ability to prioritize tasks, while continuing to grow in their accounting knowledge. Very little to no travel is required; most clients are local. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities:
· Performs inputting, bank and credit card reconciliations and posting journal entries for clients.
· Analyzes client cash flows.
· Makes adjusting journal entries.
· Prepares quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
· Prepares monthly and quarterly sales tax filings.
· Responds to federal and state tax notices for clients, and relevant research.
· Prepares for compliance audits.
· Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary returns of various complexities.
· Assist with tax planning and research.
· Works on special and unique projects, as required.
· Perform compilation and reviews and prepare financial statements for clients in various industries.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
· Active CPA license or actively pursuing CPA licensure.
· 0-3 years in public accounting.
· Experienced working with QuickBooks (desktop and online) and Excel a plus.
· Experienced working with CCH Tax, Scan and Engagement a plus.
· Excellent at time management and organization.
· Able to produce high quality work in a timely manner.
· Have the utmost attention to detail and client service.
· Professional, energetic, and flexible.
· Very strong communication skills and comfortable communicating with clients.
