Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity to support the Total Rewards Team with a focus on Compensation Management located at our Home Office in Austin, TX. Reporting to our Director of Total Rewards, our Compensation Manager will evolve our compensation program by owning all aspects of compensation and develop strong cross functional relationships across the business as a part of this dynamic position.
Responsibilities:
Compensation Design
• Strategic lens to lead a successful and equitable Compensation Program for Retail, Distribution Center and Corporate Roles.
• Ownership of daily administration of all compensation programs across various levels of the organization including corporate, retail teams, distribution center, wholesale and more.
· Ownership of job architecture framework to maintain accuracy and relevance and deliver on organizational compensation needs.
· Effective communication to stakeholders to elevate understanding of compensation programs.
· Ownership of bonus programs including policy documentation and calculation of bonus payouts
· Prices jobs utilizing job architecture framework incorporating survey data, benchmarking resources, market trends and accurate matching to provide compensation guidelines to TA and hiring manager.
· Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending revisions and/or new plans consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
· Creates documentation and policies to ensure equitability and consistency in pay practices.
· Educates the workforce and Leaders to understand compensation components.
· Ownership of compensation compliance including all federal, state and local compensation requirements.
· In collaboration with Director of Total Rewards and VP of HR, contributes to the long-term vision, goals and strategies for the Compensation Department and sets program expectations.
· Counsels HR partners and business leaders regarding compensation activities.
· Levels jobs appropriately including FLSA status determination.
· Proven sense of urgency, thrives by meeting deadlines and highest attention to detail.
· Manages market research and benchmarking activities (organizational understanding, job
evaluation, data analytics, job pricing, etc.) to ensure a solid understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends.
· Oversees the annual cycle for base pay management including structure updates or redesigns, job evaluation and slotting, incentive pay design, and the budgeting and execution of the merit process.
· Establishes and maintains the annual incentive plan processes to include design recommendations, budget / accrual modeling, and payout calculations.
· Leads the selection, negotiation and management of vendors for all areas of responsibility.
· Work with the HR Business Partners and leadership to help develop promotion and retention
strategies for existing employees. Payroll Collaboration
· Works closely with Payroll Team to ensure compensation data in HRIS system is accurate and updated timely.
· Delivers accurate reports to Payroll Team related to compensation changes.
· Ensures that the company’s job architecture framework complies with changing state and federal laws and regulations.
· Keep apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance.
· Analyze and recommend changes to current procedures and processes.
· Establishes cadence to audit payroll and commissions paid to ensure accuracy.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, Master’s degree preferred
• CCP, CECP, and SHRM-CP preferred
• 5+ year’s managing compensation programs including sales compensation & incentive pay. Experience in retail required.
• Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation and incentive compensation programs.
• Able to work independently and be a strong team player.
• Excitement and passion to design compensation program – ability to see long-term vision.
