The OSP Communications Ground Hand Laborer is responsible for working with your hands and assisting directly and indirectly Operators, Lineman, and Splicers. Laborers jobs include assisting in the placing, rearranging and removing of poles, conduit, cable lines, open wire, drops, inside wire, and block wire. You’ll work with cables and conduit to perform maintenance on outside plant equipment. As a Laborer, you’ll install lines and cables (including fiber, coax, and copper) using construction equipment to dig holes and bury cables. Most often, you’ll work outside as part of a team performing installation, maintenance and repair on facilities that start from outside the Central Office (CO) and stop at the terminal or at a customer’s building.
This job will include work on weekends, holidays, standby and unscheduled hours, and overtime. Candidates must be willing to travel extensively (75%+). This is a great opportunity to begin a career in Telecom, we are willing to train!
