Title: Director, Human Resources, US
Reports to: Vice President, HR, AME
The focus of the Director, Human Resources, US is to collaborate and lead HR activities in the United States and ensure consistency and quality of HR services for US leaders and managers. The Director, Human Resources, US acts as a business partner for the business management in the US businesses. They are part of the US management teams and Region Americas Human Resources Leadership Team and reports to the VP, Human Resources, Region Americas. This position manages the HR Managers, HR Generalists and other US HR personnel in the United States.
1. Organization support for Region management
Collaborates with the VP, HR AME to apply and implement the people strategy for the United States together with the business management teams in the United States according to the Group and Region guidance.
Implements the organizational development projects in the United States and ensures US Management teams receive required support in all people processes in the US and in day to day people topics.
Participate and support the Region and Group in global projects when nominated by the VP, Human Resources, AME.
Supports any acquisition integration and change management activities in the US.
Supports creation and implementation of US business strategies and US implementation of group people strategies according to the Group and Region guidance or direction.
2. Tailors and develops HR programs to local needs
Supports the BAs, Group and local management in implementing their HR strategies in the US.
Identifies and implements specific development programs, policies and procedures as required on country level.
Supports the US management teams in identifying, developing and maintaining the core capabilities of employees in the US and works with the VP, Human Resources, AME to ensure the same for the Region.
Works with the training organization in supporting and promoting training needed for the US related to HR topics and competency development.
3. Compensation & Benefits performance management.
Responsible for benchmarking of the compensation model in the US and working with the Regional Benefits & Rewards team and ensures that relevant market data is used when making pay decisions and assists US Management to understand, decide and communicate pay decisions.
Ensures the US business management teams are able to advise the local managers and employees in reward matters.
Assists US business management in the application of the Konecranes Short Term Incentive Policy.
4. Talent Development
Assists the US business management teams in identifying gaps in needed skills for all respective BAs.
Responsible for implementing Konecranes Talent management process and talent mapping in the US.
Assists in succession planning and career path utilization in the US for all BAs
5. Employee Relations.
Ensures that Konecranes is in compliance with local employment laws, regulations and work council processes and, where needed, facilitates the relationship with employee representative, works councils and unions.
EXPERIENCE: At least five years’ experience as a Human Resources Manager or equivalent.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Human Recourses or other corresponding major is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Travel required (expected to not exceed 25% on average), including overnight and international. Must have a take charge attitude, be decisive and possess a high level of responsibility. Must be comfortable in a fast pace, growth-oriented environment.
