JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting with recruiting and hiring, new hire orientation, maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws, regulations, and policies, updating policies and programs, receiving and acting on employee complaints, employee relations, benefits, performance management, and compensation programs, management support, HR-related data entry, and other projects as assigned.
I. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND BASIC SKILL LEVELS:
· BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field. I will consider a combination of work experience and certification instead of a degree.
· Minimum of 3 years of previous Human Resources work.
· Strong understanding of business principles and familiar with manufacturing environments.
· Proven success in recruiting, training, compensation, benefits, and payroll systems. Exposure to HRIS is a plus.
· Fluency with the Windows environment, including MS Office Suite. Strong Excel and Word skills.
· Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English skills.
· Mathematical aptitude.
· Strong commitment to integrity, humility, helping others be successful and placing the team’s interests over self.
· Willingness and ability to model positive behavior and treat others with dignity and respect at all working times, including but not limited to times of disagreement.
II. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide recruiting support, including placement advertisements, pre-screening, scheduling candidates, preparing and presenting offer letters. May support other recruiting/interviewing.
· Coordinate and conduct on-boarding for new hires: e.g., I-9/paperwork, employee system set-up and file creation, benefit orientation.
· Provide payroll support for wage changes, garnishments, tool/uniform purchases, etc.
· Benefit administration, including insurances, 401k, COBRA. Processing vendor payments, census compilations, employee communications, 401k audit support.
· Employee assistance, including responding to employee requests and questions regarding benefits, payroll, time and attendance, or other HR policies.
· Manage PTO policy, FMLA, disability.
· Maintain HR ISO compliance, including training logs.
· Maintain Employee skills database.
· Provide support to Managers, Team Leaders, and Supervisors regarding HR policies and employee relations issues.
· Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
· Coordinate other projects, e.g., wellness clinics and initiatives, Company events, employee acknowledgments, MRA surveys, etc.
· Maintain labor and employment law compliance, e.g., EEO-1 reporting/postings and employee communications.
· Maintains knowledge of industry trends, best practices, benchmarking, and legislation related to Human Resources.
