JOB TITLE: Transportation Assistant/ Dispatcher
OFFICE LOCATION: Glenmoore, PA
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position assists the Supervisor with daily transportation functions including resourcing and monitoring, completion of paperwork, and addressing employee and passenger relations issues. This position requires a CDL or willing to obtain one.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the Krapf Bus Companies vision and mission in all activities
- Accept and demonstrate the Krapf Core Values of commitment, open communication, respect and excellent service
- Represent the Krapf Bus Companies and conduct all activities in a professional, business-like manner
- Comply with all Company employment policies and safety and substance abuse prevention policies
- Drive an AM school bus route
- Assist the supervisor with daily transportation functions including resourcing, monitoring, dispatching substitutes, and contract compliance
- Maintain regular contact with school district personnel
- Serve as liaison between drivers and school administrators, parents, and students
- Assist with payroll tracking and reporting for drivers
- Assist with monthly charges and invoices for the school district
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns by contacting shop, notifying district transportation department and covering the route
- Insure immediate response to accidents/injuries and follow company accident procedures including compliance with Krapf Workers Compensation Program
- Assist with maintaining bus schedule and school calendar changes
- Maintain driver, lot, snow call, phone and address lists
- Collect monthly and semi-annual driver mileage surveys
- Track and reports attendance and coverage of all extra runs
- Assist with coordination of trips and special events
- Provide general office support
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
- Ability to perform basic office tasks
- Clear written and verbal communications
- Current valid PA driver’s license
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and school bus licenses or willingness to obtain one
- Computer literacy, microsoft word and excel are a plus
- Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to handle difficult situations professionally including excellent phone communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
