KSI Auto Parts Hiring for Cost Accountant Job at South Plainfield, NJ Full Time

SUMMARY: The Cost Accountant will perform advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related financial budget reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Compiles and reports cost information concerning product and landing valuation

· Develops systems and procedures for inventory control systems

· Reconciliation of inventory related processing and movement from receipt through sale

· Determines fixed cost allocations such as rent, utilities and insurance

· Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify sources of variations and inaccuracies.

· Prepares and reviews quarterly inventory reserve calculations

· Coordinate, supervise and analyze annual physical inventory counts

· Coordinate and review fixed assets valuation and reconciliation

· Perform periodic audits and analysis of warehouse cycle counts

· Assist with periodic balance sheet audits and reconciliations

· Performs month-end and year-end closings

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

· At least five years of experience in cost accounting required.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as accounting software.

· Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.

· Ability to manage confidential information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
