Summary: HR Assistant is responsible for orientation and training programs to help new employees integrate well and settle within the organization.
HR Assistant has access to all the data regarding employees. Any employee wanting help in resolving any internal issues approach them. They must maintain confidentiality of the complainant and carry out separate investigations about the authenticity of the complaint.
To ensure success, HR assistant should display remarkable conflict management and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of employee relationships.
The HR Assistant is responsible for, and the contact for, all areas of resort safety and OSHA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Support the owners in a variety of different ways depending on their needs at the time. This responsibility can include preparing documents for external or internal communications, screening candidates.
· Responsible for all personnel activities to include recruitment, employment, labor relations, training and development.
· Review application, resumes; evaluate applicant skills; schedule interviews with appropriate departments/supervisors.
· Ensure background check are complete.
· Design and conduct new employee orientations.
· Compile and update employee records.
· Update employee schedules weekly.
· Update employee timecards daily.
· Track Food Handlers and OLCC permits.
· Assist supervisors with employee terminations.
· Handle employee complaints and assist LOW owner’s employee grievances and disputes.
· Develop and maintain relationship with employment agencies, colleges and other recruitment sources.
· Provide advice, assistance, and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation to owners and department heads.
· Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.
· Assist with HR policies and procedures.
· Conduct exit interviews
· Coordinate employee safety trainings and upload signed documentation into each employee file in compliance with OSHA’s laws and regulations
· Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions
· Ensure resort compliance of OSHA’s laws and regulations for safety by:
o Building and monitoring SDS books, placing them in each building and make sure that all employees are aware of its location.
o ensure that all safety trainings are conducted, and that each employee has documentation of such training in their personnel files,
o investigate and respond to any OSHA letters of concern.
· Fill out an 801 when an employee is injured, fax it to SAIF Corporation as soon as possible, monitor employees progress by requesting doctor updates and communicate to SAIF regarding any documentation you receive and work together with SAIF to create a program for the employee if they return to work with light or modified duties requirements
· Respond to any notice from the Employment Department for claim filed, wages reported and possible charges, or appeal by claimant of Employment Department decision. Read all documentation, gather all information, report accurately and as quickly as possible to ensure the meeting of the Employment Department’s deadline.
Typical Physical/Mental Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Light to moderate lifting is required. Ability to manage under stress.

Pay: $14.00 – $17.00 per hour
