The Environmental Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for ensuring that Lakeside Foods complies with all agencies (DOT, OSHA, NFPA, and EPA) regulations, training, and any other requirements by such agencies, our insurance companies, and company requirements.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
Responsible for Storm water Prevention Plan
Performs other related duties to environmental management requirements.
Responsible for conducting daily wastewater sampling and reporting to City of Manitowoc Wastewater Treatment Facility, BOD tracking.
Management of wastewater permit.
SARA Title II reporting- Nitric Acid, Peroxide based chemicals, and ammonia or any other chemicals that fall under this regulation.
Responsible for Air Permit Reporting
Involved in quarterly tracking of PECO units for sealed radiation sources.
Management of water filtration systems throughout the facility and continuous improvement efforts related wastewater reduction.
Manage the sampling and reporting of industrial waste.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge:
Associates degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or equivalent experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
Knowledge of statistics, data collection and analysis.
Knowledge of federal and state regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
SAFETY:
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Report all injuries within 24 hours.
Report all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts to the supervisor immediately.
Take an active role in the daily safety and participate in the plant safety committee.
Data to be tracked by supervisors and submitted to management.
Set positive example by wearing PPE and following all safety policies.
Complete the incident analysis form including the cause and possible preventions within 24 hours.
Enforce all safety policies and inform management of all employee safety discrepancies.
Safety training of all new seasonal and full time employees
Data to tracked by HR department and submitted to upper management.
Set positive examples by wearing PPE and following all safety policies.
Add safety to all TAL meetings and review the safety incident rate quarterly.
Discipline employees for not following safety policies and procedures.
Review all incident analysis forms before forwarding to HR department.
Take an active role in the plants safety committee.
