Job Summary:
The grant writer will be responsible for administering, developing, and writing grants. The
grant writer will be responsible for searching for and securing available grants that align with Lamar Institute of Technology’s
mission and goals. Work will involve maintaining compliance with all grant regulations from funding sources and the state or federal
government. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversees the research, coordination, preparation, and development of
grant proposals and applications - Researches all sources to find funds for new grants and grant renewal opportunities
- Manages grant proposal developments and other funding opportunities
- Ensures the compliance of grant regulations by monitoring
the grant budget and project costs - Serves as the liaison between the Institute, internal and external partnerships, and all funding
sources, maintaining positive relationships - Develops and maintains policies and procedures regarding grant
administration - Maintains and oversees the records of all past, current, and future grants
- Ensures the compliance of
agreements, regulations, expenses, and activities of grantees - Develops a network of partnerships including other higher education
entities to expand the Institute’s services
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an
accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, communication, marketing, public
administration, or a related field - A minimum of three years experience in the development and coordination of grants
- Must
have knowledge of any laws pertaining to grant and/or contract administration
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a higher education setting
