POSITION CONTROL:
TITLE: Payroll and Benefits Specialist I
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under general supervision, the payroll/benefits specialist oversees and administrates Lauren’s County’s compensation and employee benefits programs. Responsibilities include gathering and organizing timekeeping records, checking for accuracy, preparing, and processing documentation, monitoring employee attendance and schedules, entering, updating, and maintaining payroll and benefits data. Processing bi-weekly payroll within deadlines and maintaining records of all transactions. It is essential to maintain an active and positive communication line with other staff to ensure accuracy in operations, all while adhering to the company’s policies and regulations. Reports to the Deputy Director of Human Resources.
Requirements:
Requires a minimum of a four-year high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited agency recognized by the US Department of Education. An Associates Degree in Office Management, Accounting, Business Administration preferred. Experience should include one to two years of experience in clerical or payroll/benefits work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

9. Knows all safety and housekeeping standards established by the County and various regulatory agencies and
