We are in search of a passionate, Human Resources Business Partner to add to our Legend Health Human Resources team. supporting to our Head of People Operations, this is a new headcount to add much needed resources to support all Legend Health based employees and business units.
This position will work in close partnership with our managers and employees in our Legend Health locations to help drive People strategy and create a compelling employee experience to enable our teams to deliver a best-in-class experience for our patients. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on level and possess strong emotional intelligence.
Location:
The Human Resources Business Partner should be able to drive in the Detroit, MI area rotating between all practices.
Top 5 Job Responsibilities:
- To support al employees and managers –Regularly meet with department and team leaders to keep a pulse on needs and develop effective and efficient solutions as needed. Ensure the 30-60-90-day check ins are taking place. Serve as main POC to Legend Health based employees and managers on various HR-related topics including, but not limited to, interpreting, and providing guidance on policies or processes, resolving issues that may arise, workforce planning, and administering employee programs and initiatives.
- Employee Relations: Administer and monitor feedback platforms and tools, regularly speak to employees, and consistently maintain a pulse on employee engagement and sentiment and react accordingly. Oversee the culture team and manage culture ambassadors. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and escalate issues of significance as needed.
- Performance Management Programs– Work closely with managers and department heads on all day-to-day performance management needs including organizing and sending notices to employees on review cycles or promotion notices, providing coaching support for managers around performance conversations, career development, and disciplinary actions, and administering tools and processes.
- Onboarding, Offboarding & General Administration- Rebrand and Administer the employee onboarding process ensuring a smooth transition from the recruiting team as a new employee and securing employee needs. Ensure new employees are accurately set-up in our systems, execute welcome and orientation materials and administrative tasks as needed. Handle offboarding processes including employee relations counseling, preparing notices and other paperwork, and facilitating the administrative process. Miscellaneous HR administration including but not limited to; employment verifications, I-9 processing, information change approvals, maintaining HRIS record integrity and compiling reports as needed.
- Compliance – Maintain an in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance with local, state, and national labor law regulations. Be a champion of employment law supporting managers, communicating important updates to team members, and liaising with legal counsel as needed.

Minimum Qualifications And Skills:
- 5-7 years of broad HR / Onboarding Experience/People & Culture experience, with at least 1 year of business partner experience, preferably in a fast moving, dynamic company
- Bachelor’s degree required in human resources, business administration, or a related field; HR certifications a plus
- Knowledge of various HR functions with experience with organizational design, succession planning, performance enablement, employee engagement, coaching and development, talent management, conflict resolution, M&A, and employee relations
- Experience mediating difficult conversations, navigating complex organizations and supporting cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical capabilities and an ability to influence managers/leaders with data-driven recommendations to improve performance, retention, and the employee experience
- Spirit of continuous learning with regard to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and your knowledge and ability to coach and discuss DEI issues and feedback
- Excellent people skills and approachability, proactively accessible and responsive to employees and managers
- Demonstrated experience working with confidential and sensitive employee data
- Ability to work independently and be proactive
- Ability to travel within the Detroit MI area
What Success Looks Like:
By 6 Months… You have Rebranded the Onboarding process and formed solid relationships with internal stakeholders and are the main point of contact for people matters. Challenging employee situations are being managed with guidance from the Head of People Operations.
By 1 Year… You are improving the day-to-day operations of the HR function by streamlining and creating new processes where applicable. You are regularly coordinating with stakeholders to proactively provide support for employees. You are seen as a go-to coach for employee relations matters and a trusted HR professional.
