Responsibilities
Conducts and leads internal investigations of low to moderate complexity. Develops investigation plan, prepares questions, and analyzes information gathered to resolve the matter and/or make recommendations for next steps.
Triages, escalates and/or recommends investigative approaches. Presents findings through clear communication to appropriate stakeholders, clarifying areas of potential risk and/or exposure. Communication skills are demonstrated at a level consistent with that of a policy expert.
Coaches and advises managers on moderately complex corrective action matters, providing guidance on conversations with employees, process, and potential legal issues. Typical issues include but not limited to: performance management issues, often involving multiple issues; (e.g. disabilities, LOAs), policy infraction, application of LM’s policies and procedures). Supports managers on employment issues of moderate to high complexity.
Provide guidance on conversations with managers, highlighting area of potential concern and risk to LM and how to mitigate the risk. Creates employee communications around resolution of employment matters. May represent the company in mediations, arbitrations, depositions or other external complaint agencies.
Applying the risk management framework, may approve and/or recommend termination approvals and assists managers with the communication for a termination.
Responsible for term approvals within the scope of approval authority. Ensures tickets and cases are established in the case management system for each matter, that related documents are properly categorized and stored in the system, and that content is accurate and thorough. Applying the risk management framework, identifies and analyzes legal and compliance risks in employment situations and ensures appropriate escalation.
Influences, coaches, and solves problems to ensure consistent application of policy/procedure and treatment of employees in investigations and resolutions. Coaches employees and manager on intervention techniques and on developing conflict resolution skills.
Participates and supports the implementation of new employment programs and processes to address employment issues or to improve current processes and practices with the team.
Bachelor`s degree (preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration) or equivalent experience required, in addition to 2 to 4 years of relevant and equivalent experience required, in addition to 2 to 4 years of relevant and progressively more responsible human resources experience
Knowledge of HR laws, policies, programs, and procedures
Solid communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
Demonstrated capability of developing effective working relationships with senior management, including the ability to influence decision making surrounding HR issues and initiatives (where applicable)
Ability to apply and adapt Human Resources practices, policies and techniques to address the myriad of employment issues of moderate complexity
Demonstrated ability to shift work focus and manage multiple priorities
Proficient in organizational development and change management concepts
