THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Director of People Operations, the HR generalist owns the day to day support of our employee group at our hotels.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Support the People Team with day-to-day related action items, such as onboarding, benefits enrollment and administration, updating policies and procedures, and responding to corporate and property-level inquiries
Help onboard our employees by tracking onboarding requests, preparing offer letters and related agreements, ordering technology equipment and software, requesting IT credentials from IT, and supplies prior to start date
Adding and tracking employees in HRIS and other relevant systems, preparing and running payroll for corporate employees in the US and Canada, and ensuring employees enroll in health and other corporate benefits
Onboard and off-board all hotels we manage by opening company tax set-ups, ensuring we are compliant with the state and federal laws, and ensuring we are properly set-up to process payroll
Develop and assist the team with ensuring that policies and procedures are law-compliant, and that all employees at the corporate and property levels complete training required by federal, state/provincial, and/or local laws
Onboarding managerial-level new talent at existing properties, and assisting existing managerial talent with various HR-related action items, such as payroll, updates to minimum wage and overtime requirements, and liaising between properties and the corporate team on essential HR issues
Train, coach General Managers at our hotels on a variety of HR topics to increase autonomy
Handle workplace investigations, disciplinary, and termination procedures
Assist with new hire orientation at the property and corporate levels
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate Human Resources/ Legal staff
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development
Fluent in English and Spanish
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a HR Generalist role
Experience at a high-growth, fast-paced start-up or technology company (preferred)
Knowledge and understanding of multi-state and federal employment law as well as HR industry best practices
Highly organized with excellent time management skills and a focus on process optimization
Ability to build rapport with current and new staff and act as a trusted advisor
Experience in educating and coaching staff.
HR Certification (SHRM, HRCI, CHRP or CHRL designations) preferred
Experience with G-Suite (docs, sheets, calendar) and familiarity with Slack and Asana (preferred)
Experience with Gusto and Rise preferred.
