Schedule: 20 hours weekly (Monday – Thursday)
Livingston Parish Library is looking for an HR Assistant to perform various administrative tasks and support our Human Resource Department’s daily activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with screening and maintaining resumes, applications, tests, and reference checks.
Assist with coordinating the preparation of materials for new hire onboarding and orientation.
Assist with employee benefits management: open enrollments.
Reads and routes incoming mail, composes, prepares, and maintains correspondence files (electronic and hardcopy), prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including email and faxes.
Update job descriptions as needed.
Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates.
Respond to HR-related requests and inquiries.
Assist with staff training meetings.
Prepare HR reports as needed.
Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
1-2 years of administrative experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field (preferred).
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications.
Great attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required.
Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, and resume databases, a plus.
Basic knowledge of labor legislation.
