Loggerhead Insurance Hiring for HR Generalist at Tampa, FL Full Time

What’s the Role?

As part of Loggerhead’s Human Resources team, the HR Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and ensuring compliance with company policies and best practices. The HR Generalist will provide the leadership of the organization with necessary information and education to assure compliance with human resources and employment related standards relative to applicant selection and employee retention. A Day in the Life could include:

• Responsibility for Human Resources delivery and implementation across the employee lifecycle.
• Creating a recruitment plan to bring in new team members as needed.
• Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations.
• Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records.
• Developing and implementing strategies that focus on the proper selection and retention of employees.
• Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

• The ability to provide professional administrative assistance in the following areas: recruitment, retention, compensation, benefits, employee relations, compliance and training.

• Excellent presentation, persuasion, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and analytical skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers is essential.
• The capacity to maintain confidentiality in the handling of sensitive information is critical.

Knowledge & Experience

• HR Generalist: 2 years (Required)
• Recruiting: 1 year (Required)

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience and education.
• SPHR/PHR preferred.
• Human Resources experience in an insurance company environment is ideal.

*This job can be remote, with occasional travel to Tampa, FL headquarters*

Working Conditions: Normal business office environment. Additional hours as required.
