The Brandman Centers for Senior Care (BCSC), a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), provides high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services. We are a program of the Los Angeles Jewish Home, renowned for providing quality care to vulnerable seniors.

We put the well-being of seniors first, promoting independence in the comfort of their own homes, even when their health challenges makes them eligible for nursing home care. Services for each individual are based on recommendations and coordination of the Interdisciplinary Team. BCSC offers primary medical care on-site, preventive health services, rehabilitation, and transportation to and from the Center.

Following a thorough assessment, each participant in PACE receives customized care, as recommended by an Interdisciplinary Team very familiar with the individual. When a higher level of care is required, such as home healthcare or nursing home care, the Interdisciplinary Team will approve and arrange for this.

The Medical Assistant’s responsibilities are but not limited to:

Responsibilities:

• Able to do blood draws, take and evaluate vital signs as well as do EKG’s.
• Record and collect medical data as requested by physician, i.e., lab/x-ray results, vital signs and history.
• Greet Participants with warm and helpful demeanor.
• Maintain professional demeanor by reporting to work in appropriate attire, courteous phone technique. Clear and meaningful communication with physicians, Participants and co-workers.
• Monitor and coordinate transportation for Participants’ appointments.
• Coordinate in-house medical visits and/or treatments for Participants.
• Answer and respond to general telephone inquiries.
• Arrange examining room, check instruments and equipment to make sure they are in a proper condition; keep the examining room neat and clean.
• Other duties as required.

Experience and Skills:

• Medical Assistant with experience working in a busy medical setting.
• Must be bilingual in English/Spanish.
• At least 1 year experience with the frail or elderly.
• Great customer service skills and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
