LSU Foundation – Director of DevelopmentThe LSU Foundation is looking for an experienced and innovative Director of Development to join our team and lead our fundraising and philanthropic efforts. In this role, you will spearhead our organization’s fundraising and development activities, cultivate relationships with donors, and create, implement, and review strategies to increase donations. Responsibilities: • Establish comprehensive development strategies to identify, motivate and engage philanthropic prospects, both existing and new• Monitor and analyze fundraising results, making recommendations to ensure the goals, strategies, and resource allocation are optimize• Develop and implement systems and strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic support• Lead and coordinate the development fundraising team to ensure success• Collaborate with colleagues to build relationships and network with existing donors and potential donors• Develop strong donor communication plans and materials• Engage with the Dean of Development, President, and other key volunteer leadership in the execution of fundraising efforts• Manage the research, record keeping, data entry, and other activities associated with fundraising • Investigate, track and respond to industry trendsQualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Development/Fundraising• At least 7 years of experience in a fundraising/development role • Proven track record in successfully meeting or exceeding annual fundraising goals• Knowledge of and experience using donor management databases and other fundraising technology• Ability to think strategically, identify potential donors, and develop creative new relationships• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills • High level of professionalism, collegiality, and respect for the diverse perspectives and experiences of others • Ability to work independently and with attention to detail• Demonstrated ability to employ diplomacy, tact, and persistence• Passion for the mission of LSU Foundation• Working knowledge of fundraising practices, principles, and regulatory compliance
