Overview: Foster Care/ Family Recruiter needed for the Myrtle Beach/Florence, SC area! Employment Type: Full-time Sign-on bonus available With almost 4,000 children in the South Carolina foster care system, families are needed more than ever. Children need a safe/nurturing environment during one of the most challenging and misunderstood moments in their lives. Recruiting families is one of the most important steps in the foster care process. Without families, foster care is impossible! The Family Recruiter’s primary role is to recruit, screen and enroll host homes into the program. Identifying, educating and screening potential foster/treatment parents in the Myrtle Beach/Florence area (primarily) will be the focus. Candidate must be comfortable with public speaking, presenting in different venues and capacities, be outgoing, enjoy networking and want to make a difference in the lives of children and families! Traveling within the state of South Carolina for recruitment fairs, representing the agency in church congregations or other community events will be required. Nights and/or weekends may be required for recruiting events. Qualifications (Minimum Job Requirements): • Education: Minimum Associate’s degree. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred in communications/ marketing/ human services fields. • Experience: Two years experience in marketing/ sales/ public relations/ communication. Knowledge of foster care a plus. • Specific skills/abilities: Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups or crowds. Must have excellent communication skills -written and verbal (one-on-one, groups and public speaking). Possess strong promotional and advertising skills. Be highly organized, goal/productivity driven and self-motivated. Well-versed in various levels and requirements of foster care, or ability to learn them in detail. Minimum of 21 years of age and must possess a valid driver’s license.
