Full Job Description
Maternal & Infant Health Consulting (M&IHC) is a woman-owned social impact consulting firm whose mission is to bridge the gap between global health research and implementation. To achieve that mission, we focus our work on research, facilitation, and communications in the areas of reproductive health, nutrition, and community health.
Over the past 9 years, M&IHC has worked in over 50 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. M&IHC’s Hub of Global Health Independent Contractors are trusted by a diverse array of clients, including PATH, Population Services International (PSI), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
M&IHC is hiring a part-time and remote Recruiter / Virtual Assistant with the initial contract starting in February of 2023.
Description of Services
Managing Candidate Review of Applicants Submitted to M&IHC
- Effectively reviewing, organizing, and flagging consultant submissions to our Hub of Independent Contractors, which is in Airtable. Airtable experience is preferred, and we will train and allow for ongoing training on Airtable.
- Understanding the breadth of upcoming M&IHC consultant projects and what skills and experiences are necessary to fulfill project roles. This will allow for the matching of Hub candidates to M&IHC’s upcoming projects
- Ensuring equitable processes are followed throughout the review process
- Collaborating with M&IHC’s Executive Director to improve the review processes
Conducting Candidate Interviews
- Improving the screening process for candidates interested in working for M&IHC
- Scheduling and orchestrating candidate interviews over the phone, Zoom, and other online platforms. This will often be in conjunction with M&IHC’s Executive Director
- Documenting the content and outcome of each candidate interview
- Ensuring equitable processes are followed during candidate screening, interviews, and selection
Systematically Communicating Candidate Vetting
- Working closely with M&IHC’s Executive Director to match candidates with consulting projects
- Communicating interview outcomes to candidates
- Sharing selected candidates with the M&IHC Finance & Human Resources Associate to smoothly transition the candidate into the contracting process
Logistics
- 10-20 hours per week (flexible schedule, based on candidate)
- Initial Contract: Flexible February start date
- 100% remote work
- Clear cut & reasonable deadlines
- Reports to M&IHC’s Director
Qualifications
- Experience working in recruitment, ideally in public health consultant recruitment
- Experience with sourcing candidates
- Experience utilizing a candidate database e.g. AirTable
- Strong people skills, including over the phone and online platforms
- Strong organizational and communications skills
