Reports directly to the CEO, is directly responsible for the daily operations of the department and oversees the routine functions of the office. Assists in planning, development, administration and evaluation of department activities. Responsibilities include matters of employment, recruitment, compensation, benefits, labor relations, employee recognition events, workers compensation, personnel administration and budget.
Education/Licensing: College degree in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred. Degree may be substituted with a minimum of two years of business college and 4 years hospital Human Resources experience.
Qualifications/Skills: Prior experience in a Human Resources department required. Must have the ability to work efficiently and responsibly in an environment with multiple work demands and short time frames. Must possess skills to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to all levels of system personnel including physicians, attorneys, insurance carrier staff and other regulatory agency staff. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, able to organize work/project demands, prioritize, problem-solve and function independently. Requires the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and a strict adherence to confidentiality. Must have the ability to tolerate long periods of sitting, using the keyboard, reading computer screen for extended periods of time, hear and speak with individuals in person or on the telephone, read and write text. Knowledge of and experience in administering contracts. Knowledge of and experience with employee benefits. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to use all standard business office machines including computers with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to organize and accomplish a wide variety of tasks without supervision. Proven supervisory/leadership qualities.
