Meeting Street, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing services to children and families in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, is seeking a motivated team player to serve as the Human Resources Specialist. SUMMARY OF MAIN DUTIES:
Provides operational support in planning, implementing and maintenance of the HRIS platform – inclusive of benefits, paid time off/leaves of absences, compensation, employee self-service, learning management, surveys, performance and applicant tracking. Coordinates day-to-day back office human resource functions including support of new employee on-boarding, benefits administration, compliance, recordkeeping, reporting and HRIS management, working onsite at both of Meeting Street’s campuses in Providence, RI and Dartmouth, MA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees and maintains optimal function of the HRIS, which may include user management, installation, customization, development, maintenance, upgrades to systems and modules.
Models the desired behaviors and values of the agency with effective customer service, a positive attitude and a solutions focus.
Coordinates with new-hires regarding benefits enrollment and onboarding paperwork.
Facilitates on-boarding for new hires or transfers including scheduling orientation, preparing materials, organizing speakers, communicating with attendees and ordering refreshments.
Maintains employee records and ensures that all required documentation is complete, compliant, and up-to-date.
Initiates and reviews background check results, ensuring that they are compliant per program or department requirements.
Administers additions, deletions and changes to benefit plans at the employee level.
Provides support to employees with questions regarding benefit offerings and options.
Establishes regular reporting schedule of required audits and useful reports to ensure data accuracy, data compliance and support of business needs.
Manages the HRIS database with accuracy and integrity. Works with staff and vendor to ensure all relevant system features are activated and working appropriately.
Creates and prepares system generated reports on a regular and ad hoc basis.
Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Executes ad hoc requests and projects in support of departmental and agency goals.
Works with the HR team and outside vendors as appropriate to manage projects and initiatives.
Maintains HR operations to create positive employee, staff and management interactions with superior customer service.
Manages the employee recognition and rewards system.
Proficient use of tools and systems to create and maintain accurate and timely scheduled and ad hoc reports.
Meeting Street is currently offering a four-step $2,500 bonus to new employees for full-time, benefit eligible positions.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is required; HR major, HR college coursework or HR certification preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year HR department experience; benefits administration and records maintenance experience preferred.
Knowledge of HR and/or payroll software.
Advanced working knowledge of Paylocity, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
