DESCRIPTION
Mendocino College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track DSPS Counselor/Coordinator – to join our friendly, dynamic
Counseling Department and Student Services Division.
Under general direction of the Dean of Counseling and Student
Programs, and as a member of the Counseling Department, this position provides counseling and coordination for Disabled Student
Programs & Services (DSPS).

This is a full-time, tenure track, general funded, contract position. The work year consists of 211 days (200 contact days over 12
months (7/1-6/30) plus an additional 8 flex/professional development days (54 hours individually designed) and 3 District
directed flex/professional development days. Specific work days and hours will be set at the time of employment and annually
thereafter.

SALARY, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Compensation is dependent on education and experience.
Annual salary offered at $78,941 –
$113,254. Step seven (7) is the maximum step placement based on year for year teaching experience or two years of FTE work
experience in the field per step.

Benefits: With NO monthly premium contribution from the faculty member, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes family
medical, dental, vision, EAP benefits and employee life insurance. Additional voluntary life insurance is available for employee
purchase. Benefits are effective the first of the month following hire date.
Paid Time Off: The successful candidate will earn twelve (12) days of sick&nb
sp;leave per year.
Retirement: This position is eligible for CalSTRS Retirement. Additional, voluntary
403{b)programs are available.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified
hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
Posses an understanding of the
diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender/gender- identity, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
and willingness to create safe and inclusive learning environments for all students.
EDUCATION
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in
rehabilitation counseling; OR
Master’s degree in counseling, guidance counseling, student personnel, clinical or counseling
psychology, education counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, marriage, family, and child
counseling, or a Bachelor’s degree in marriage and family therapy or in marriage, family and child counseling and possession of a
license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT); and either 15 or more semester units in upper division or graduate level course work
related to people with disabilities, or completion of six semester units, or the equivalent of a
graduate-level counseling practicum or counseling field work courses, in a post-secondary Disabled Students Programs and Services program
or in a program dealing with people with disabilities, or two years of fulltime experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the
following:
